The effects of COVID 19 are global and in Rwanda have caused a crisis needing emergency relief. The number of confirmed cases is growing daily but, thanks to government measures, the spread is slow at this point.
However, as the quarantine continues, millions are not earning their normal day’s wages, meaning they cannot afford food. The families in our projects have been particularly hard hit, and have experienced several days without food. Last week we sent emergency funds to our front line operations of the Healthy Mums Project and were able to provide food for the most needy.
The first $2250 has made a difference. This money was used to purchase 205kg of each rice, maize and beans, 123L of cooking oil, and 41 bars of soaps, providing food for 31 families of up to 10 people.
But we need to do more.
We are partnering with the crowdfunding initiative StartSomeGood to raise emergency funds for those in need. Our aim is to raise at least $5000. Please click on the panel below to see how you can help us to keep the poorest families from starving during this crisis.
Thank you for your life saving support.
Blessings to you and be safe and stay well.
